The Wisconsin Psychology Foundation was established
by the Wisconsin Psychological Association
to provide funds for scholarships and research,
to promote continuing professional education,
and to enhance public awareness of psychology and its role in society.

Thanks to the generosity of WPA members during the first few years of existence of the Wisconsin Psychology Foundation, contributions have allowed the Foundation to begin carrying out our mission and have given us the ability to begin planning more concretely for the future. Some of our accomplishments to date are described below.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH POSTER AWARDS

For the past several years, the Foundation has underwritten the Margaret Bernauer Psychology Research Awards, recognizing scientific research posters presented by students during the WPA Annual Convention. Working with the WPA Research Committee to determine the award winners, each spring they have made as many as six cash awards to undergraduate and graduate student researchers in amounts ranging from $100 to $500. The call for student research posters for next year's competition will be available here later in the year.

PSYCHOLOGY GRADUATE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

Grants and other sources of funding for graduate students have diminished markedly over the last decade. The Wisconsin Psychology Foundation would like to be able to provide financial assistance to worthy psychology graduate students, to help them complete their training and move our profession into the future. As a start, the Foundation has established three $1000 scholarships that will be granted to students enrolled in Wisconsin graduate programs. Although it is not feasible yet, the long term goal of the Foundation is to make these and/or similar scholarships available on an annual basis. Click here for more information about these scholarships.

OTHER LONG TERM GOALS

The Wisconsin Psychology Foundation has established a track record of supporting student researchers in our state. We expect that we will soon have a similarly strong track record of supporting graduate student education through scholarships. As part of our long range plans, we also intend to provide financial support for continuing professional education in psychology and for high quality public education efforts.

GIVING TO THE WISCONSIN PSYCHOLOGY FOUNDATION

Please take a moment to examine the categories of giving that have been established. We hope you will decide that your commitment to the future of the profession can and should be demonstrated by a contribution to recognize student research, to ensure the high quality training of psychology students in our state, and to make it possible for us to begin carrying out our continuing education and public education goals in the future.

Contributions are welcome in any amount. Categories of giving have been established as follows:
